Frequently asked questions
Book a Kitchen TourGetting started
How do I get started?
Book a 30-minute kitchen tour. Fill in the short intake form first, then pick a time. If we're a fit, you'll create a free profile on The Food Corridor, our booking system, and choose North Shore Culinary Center as your home kitchen.
What happens on the tour?
About 20 minutes getting to know each other's businesses, then a 10-minute walk through the kitchen. Christopher gives every tour himself.
Is there space available right now?
Dedicated leasing space opened this fall, and there's often a waitlist. The fastest way to find out is a tour.
What do I need before I can cook?
A Danvers Board of Health food license, manager ServSafe and Allergen Awareness certification, business insurance, and any other permits your product needs. We help every new tenant get these in place.
Rates and booking
How much does it cost?
Hourly use runs $30 to $40 an hour plus an $1,800 annual membership. Leased space starts at $1,500 a month, and shelving starts at $100 a month. See Rates for details.
How do I book kitchen time?
Members reserve production time on our online calendar in The Food Corridor.
Is there a deal for new leasing tenants?
Yes. The 2026 Food Business Launch Package lets qualified new leasing tenants start with just the first month: no last month or security deposit.
The kitchen
Is it really open 24/7?
Yes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, holidays included.
Can I fry?
No. Frying isn't allowed, so fry-based businesses aren't a fit.
Is there storage?
Yes: dry, cold, and freezer storage, subject to availability.
Can customers pick up orders here?
Yes. We have a dedicated parking lot for customer pickups.
Do you work with food trucks?
Yes, we're food truck friendly. Tell us about your truck or trailer on the tour form.
Support and community
Do you help with the business side?
Every tenant gets a free monthly session with Prep to Profit, our in-house consulting company. Not a tenant yet? Book a consult at preptoprofitconsulting.com.
Can I host an event or pop-up?
We've hosted food truck nights, pop-ups, and special events. Reach out and tell us what you have in mind.
Who cooks here now?
Bakers, caterers, BBQ, coffee, food trucks, vending, and packaged goods makers. Meet them on Our Tenants.
